The 18.4-km Kilambakkam–Chettipunniyam metro extension has already received in-principle approval from the state government. The project aims to improve connectivity in remote and disaster-affected areas and is expected to enhance regional mobility while supporting socio-economic development in the Seraj constituency. The state government has also announced additional allocations for local road works as part of its broader infrastructure development and disaster recovery initiatives. MoRTH invites EPC bids for NH-322 widening in Bihar - The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has invited bids for the widening and strengthening of the NH-322 section from Musrigharari to Darbhanga (Km 72.05 to Km 96.00) in Bihar. The project, to be executed on EPC mode under the 2025–26 programme, involves developing a two-lane carriageway with paved shoulders, along with utility shifting works, to enhance road safety and capacity. The estimated project cost is `157.70 crore, with bid submission scheduled for 21 July 2026. The project is expected to improve regional connectivity and traffic flow on this key transport corridor. Anusha Projects secures `125.99 crore Assam road contract - Anusha Projects Private Limited has emerged as the L1 bidder for a `125.99 crore contract awarded by the Public Works Roads Department, Assam, for the upgradation and maintenance of Corridor 2 from near Maibang to near Gunjung under the Assam Resilient Hill Area Development Road Project (ADRHARDP) scheme. The project, awarded on 13 March 2026, has a completion period of 30 months. The scope includes corridor improvement works aimed at strengthening connectivity and ensuring long-term maintenance of the stretch. Other bidders included Anupam Nirman Pvt. Ltd., DCC Infra Projects Ltd., and Shree Gautam Construction Co. Ltd. The project is expected to improve regional accessibility and road infrastructure in Assam. Apollo Tyres plans `3,000 crore greenfield facility in Tamil Nadu - Apollo Tyres is exploring the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu with a planned investment of around `3,000 crore and is scouting for suitable land parcels in the southern part of the state. The company already operates a 257-acre manufacturing facility at Oragadam near Chennai. The proposed project aims to expand Apollo Tyres’ production footprint and strengthen its presence in southern India’s industrial corridor. The investment is expected to boost Tamil Nadu’s manufacturing ecosystem, spur ancillary industrial development, and reinforce the state’s position as a key hub for automotive and tyre manufacturing. West Bengal identifies land for second Kolkata airport - West Bengal is planning to identify around 1,000 acres of land in Kalyani for the development of Kolkata’s second airport. The proposed airport is intended to support the region’s long-term aviation capacity expansion and ease pressure on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport by creating additional passenger and cargo handling capacity. Currently at the conceptual planning stage, the project is undergoing land identification. Once developed, it is expected to enhance regional air connectivity and support economic growth in North Kolkata and surrounding districts. UPEIDA invites bids for `2,107.82 crore Jewar Airport-Ganga Expressway link - The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has invited bids for the development of the Jewar Airport to Ganga Expressway via Bulandshahr Link Expressway (Package I). The 24.467-km stretch will extend from Bhaipur Brahman in Gautam Buddha Nagar to Bichaula in Bulandshahr. The project, to be executed on an EPC basis, has an estimated cost of `2,107.82 crore (excluding GST) and a completion period of 36 months, followed by a five-year maintenance period. The corridor is expected to strengthen connectivity between Noida International Airport at Jewar and the Ganga Expressway, enhancing regional mobility, logistics efficiency and airport-led economic development in western Uttar Pradesh. HMRTC approves DPR for 36-km Sector 56-Pachgaon metro corridor - The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has approved the DPR for the proposed Sector 56-Pachgaon metro corridor and forwarded it to the state Cabinet for final approval. The 36-km elevated corridor will comprise 28 stations and include a double-decker section between Ghata and Vatika Chowk. Estimated at around Rs 10,000 crore, the project is proposed to be fully funded by the Haryana Government. The corridor is expected to enhance urban mobility, improve metro connectivity across the expanding Gurugram-Pataudi development belt, and ease traffic congestion on key arterial roads in southern Gurugram. Gurugram Metro Rail floats `409 crore depot-cum-workshop tender - Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has floated a tender for the development of a 50-acre depot-cum-workshop in Sector 33, Gurugram, with an estimated project cost of `409 crore. The scope includes the construction of integrated maintenance and operational support facilities for the upcoming metro network. The project is slated for completion within 21 months from the date of award. The depot is expected to play a critical role in supporting metro operations, rolling stock maintenance and overall service efficiency across the Gurugram Metro corridor. NHIDCL invites `311.85 crore EPC tender for NH-717B upgradation in Sikkim - The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has invited bids for the widening and upgradation of the existing carriageway from Rhenock (Km 0.000) to Rongli Bazaar (Km 15.300) on NH-717B in Sikkim to a two-lane configuration with paved shoulders on EPC mode. The project has an estimated cost of `311.85 crore and an earnest money deposit (EMD) of `3.12 crore. Bid submission is scheduled for 6 August 2026. The scope includes upgrading a critical hill highway corridor under challenging terrain conditions to improve regional mobility and road safety.
