Suzlon secures 201.6 MW wind order from Waaree Group

Suzlon has secured a 201.6 MW wind energy order from Waaree Forever Energies Private Limited, the independent power producer arm of Waaree Group. The project marks Waaree Group’s first wind energy development in Andhra Pradesh.

The project will be executed under Suzlon’s development company-led model, which provides integrated project development and engineering, procurement and construction services. It is Suzlon’s second DevCo-led EPC order secured within a week.

Under the contract, Suzlon will install 64 S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The company will undertake land acquisition, turbine supply, balance-of-plant works, commissioning and lifetime operations and maintenance services.

The latest order has increased Suzlon’s order book in Andhra Pradesh to nearly 1 GW. The company said the DevCo model is gaining momentum as renewable energy developers seek faster project execution, lower development risks and improved scalability.

Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said the partnership brings together two companies that have built strong positions in India’s wind and solar energy sectors. He added that renewable energy customers are increasingly seeking integrated solutions instead of standalone technologies.

Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group, said the order reflected growing demand for partners capable of reducing execution risks and delivering large renewable energy projects.

Pawan Agrawal, Chief Executive Officer, Waaree Forever Energies, said the project would support Waaree’s efforts to build a diversified renewable energy portfolio beyond solar power and strengthen India’s clean energy transition.
