Terex to introduce new equipment at Utility Expo

The contractors will be witnessing the numerous new products and technology Terex has been developing for the first time at The Utility Expo on September 28-30 in Louisville, Kentucky, which was previously known as ICUEE.

The new products include Genie Z-45 Substation Utility Boom, General 65 MAX digger, a high-production Foundation Auger, TL48 Telescopic Aerial Device and Terex HyPower SmartPTO.

Genie Z-45 Substation Utility Boom is a product that provides manoeuvrability and insulation to improve work on substations, and it features a fibreglass jib section and fibreglass platform with a swing gate.

The Z-45 SUB adheres to the standards of ANSI A92.2 for Category E insulating rating of 20 kV, as measured between the boom tip and the chassis and the 355-degree rotation, zero tail-swing, self-propelled steering, and up-and-over capability of the machine also give utility workers greater platform positioning control.

The General 65 MAX digger derrick has been designed for the transmission market, and it provides enhanced capacities through all boom angles, but especially in the work zone in low boom angles, digging and lifting.

A high-production Foundation Auger has been designed to enhance drill footage in several soil conditions, and the flighting pitch improves the material flow from the tooth cutting area for increased productivity. The tool features an optional extra heavy-duty 1-1/2-inch and a standard heavy-duty 1-inch flighting.

The TL48 Telescopic Aerial Device provides what the company calls leading side reach and material handling capacity because it reaches 53 feet of working height on a Super-Duty class vehicle while maintaining the needed vehicle payload and jib capacity to get the job done.

The Terex HyPower SmartPTO reduces noise and air pollution, increases fuel savings and decreases idling by utilising stored plug-in electric power to operate the equipment. Terex has been working with Viatec to optimise the product on over-centre and non-over-centre aerial devices, Hi-Ranger telescopic and Commander and General digger derricks.
