Atlas Copco Showcases Energy Recovery Solutions at Boiler India 2026

Atlas Copco showcased its advanced steam compression and energy recovery technologies at Boiler India 2026 in Mumbai, highlighting solutions designed to recover, upgrade and reuse energy within industrial processes.
The company presented its EC oil-free Variable Speed Drive (VSD) steam compressor and industrial heat-pump technology, aimed at improving energy utilisation and reducing dependence on conventional steam generation.
The EC steam compressor converts low-pressure steam into higher-pressure steam for reuse in industrial applications. It incorporates oil-free screw compression, VSD technology, dedicated steam sealing and integrated controls for precise regulation of steam pressure and superheat. The system delivers 100 per cent oil-free steam and achieves a pressure ratio of up to six per stage.
Bhavin Pandya, General Manager, Compressor Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco (India), said, “Industrial energy efficiency is increasingly about making better use of the energy already available within a plant. Low-pressure steam and waste heat can be recovered, upgraded and reused for productive applications. At Atlas Copco, we are extending our compression expertise across air, steam and heat to help industries optimise their utility systems. Boiler India 2026 provides an opportunity to demonstrate how these technologies can support more efficient and sustainable industrial operations.”
The technology can also function as an open-loop heat-pump solution, delivering a higher Coefficient of Performance (COP), depending on operating conditions.
These solutions cater to industries including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, pulp and paper, distilleries and general manufacturing, where continuous thermal demand creates opportunities for heat recovery.
With over six decades of operations in India, Atlas Copco continues to expand its industrial energy-efficiency portfolio through compression technology, application engineering and lifecycle support.
