Doosan to roll out its next-generation crawler excavators

Doosan Infracore North America is stepping up its launch of its next-generation crawler excavators to the United States, with updates of its machines and some new models, comprising its largest-ever excavator.

The first Dash 7 excavator, the DX800LC-7, debuted in 2020 at ConExpo at 80 metric tons. At last week’s World of Concrete, the firm showed off its new reduced-tail swing 14-metric-ton model, the DX140LCR-7. The firm revealed its 35-metric-ton DX350LC-7. These machines are just the start of the firm's excavator plans for 2022 and 2023 as it revives all Dash 5 models, and launches two excavators with full electronic control and its biggest excavator, at 100 tons.

The next-generation crawler excavators feature higher digging forces and lifting capacities and boosted fuel efficiency. Diesel engines in the excavators will continue to fulfil Tier 4 Final emissions norms without diesel particulate filters. The bigger models will come with D-ECOPower for conserving fuel.

The cabs will remain roomy and are prepared for decreased noise and vibration. Standout features comprise a seat that cools, keyless entry and push-button start, and new 8-inch touchscreen displays that are common with the firm's other next-generation machines. The cabs additionally get more glass for enhanced visibility, and a single wiper cleans both the top and bottom windows during stormy weather.

Doosan has standard grade control with its new excavators. The firm is additionally concentrating on making attachments easier to connect with and use. Some will have a tiltrotator mode for easy usage of the rotating, shifting attachment, which has been popular in Europe and is gaining approval in the U.S.

The new Dash 7 excavators will allow operators to adjust power modes while utilising attachments. The four power modes are power, power plus, standard and economy. Work modes are drilling and lifting and two work modes for attachments, one-way and two-way flow.
