Kabelschlepp India Installs Robotic VMC in Bengaluru

Kabelschlepp India, part of the Tsubaki Group, has installed a state-of-the-art Vertical Machining Center (VMC) integrated with robotic automation at its Bengaluru facility. The inauguration was held in the presence of Henning Preis, President & CEO, Kabelschlepp Group, Jörg Schulz, Vice President – Production, and Srinivas P. Kamisetty, Managing Director, Kabelschlepp India.

The high-precision CNC VMC is designed for advanced milling, drilling, tapping and multi-axis machining. Equipped with a vertical spindle orientation, automatic tool changer and intelligent CNC control system, it enhances accuracy, repeatability and operational efficiency. Robotic integration enables automated loading and unloading of components, transforming conventional machining into a continuous, high-efficiency process.

The upgrade is expected to increase overall productivity by 30 per cent, reduce setup and cycle times by 50 per cent and double production output. It also improves dimensional consistency, minimises manual handling and reduces material wastage and rejection rates.

“India remains a key strategic market for our global operations. The installation of this advanced VMC reinforces our commitment towards strengthening local manufacturing capabilities, improving efficiency, and delivering world-class quality standards. We see strong growth potential driven by automation and smart manufacturing initiatives,” said Henning Preis.

“This investment reflects our focused approach towards enhancing manufacturing agility and technological capability. With the new Vertical Machining Center, we are not only improving productivity and precision but also reinforcing our commitment to strengthening localised production. The upgrade will help us reduce lead times, improve quality consistency, and better serve our customers across industries,” added Srinivas P. Kamisetty.

Equipment Selection: The Hidden Driver of Project Risk

Renting the wrong construction equipment can play havoc with project deadlines and budgets. But what is the right equipment? CW explores further.Project cost overruns, safety incidents and low utilisation rarely come from execution alone – they start much earlier, at the moment a machine is selected, according to Ashishkumar Tiwari, Director, MyCrane. As for cranes, a construction equipment that is frequently rented instead of bought, he says, “Crane selection errors commence with the question ‘which crane is available?’ instead of ‘which crane does the job demand?’...To read ..
