Wipro Infrastructure Engineering begins construction of new plant in Bengaluru

As reported, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering’s (WIN) aerospace front has started the construction of its second plant in Bengaluru, which is also set to be home to the Aerostructure Machining and Surface Treatment Lines for aerospace components. 

A ceremony was performed for the new plant, which will cover an estimated 10 acre, by the company at Devanahalli in the Aerospace Special Economic Zone.

Creating employment for about 300 people, the plant will come about in several phases. Machining operations will be part of the first phase and will start in the first quarter of 2020. 

Surface treatment lines for the components will start by 2021, under the second phase. Once the facility becomes fully operational, the company will begin employing people.

The company’s first plan in the city manufactures hydraulic actuator parts for landing gears and engine cowl opening systems and is spread over seven-acre.
