DTCP issues notices for property violations

The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has issued show-cause notices to 45 residential properties in South City 2 for misuse and violation of the Haryana Urban Development Act, 1975. Following a recent survey, the DTCP enforcement team identified these properties as non-compliant with regulations. Owners have been given seven days to respond to the notices; otherwise, actions such as restoration orders and cancellation of occupation certificates will be taken against them.

District Town Planner Manish Yadav clarified that permission for certain commercial activities can be obtained from the department, limited to 25% or 50 sqm of the total ground floor construction area in residential colonies. These activities include offices for property dealers, lawyers, chartered accountants, contractors, clinics, tax consultants, architects, town planners (without studios), company secretaries, ayurvedic and homoeopathic practices, tourist guides, and psychiatry clinics, among others, classified as non-nuisance activities.

The enforcement team continues to conduct sealing and demolition operations against illegal commercial activities in licensed colonies. To date, over 200 properties have been sealed due to building violations.

India’s carbon dioxide emissions from the power sector fell by 1 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2025, marking only the second decline in nearly 50 years, according to a research report.
