Goa-SEIAA Approves EC for Converting Tonca Residential Project to Hotel

The Goa State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (Goa-SEIAA) has granted environmental clearance to Marvel Resorts for the conversion of a residential project into a commercial establishment, specifically a hotel, located in Tonca, Panaji. This decision comes after the project was thoroughly appraised by the Goa State Expert Appraisal Committee (Goa-SEAC) during a meeting held on February 14, 2025. The Goa-SEAC reviewed various aspects of the proposal, considering the environmental impact and other relevant factors.

Following the committee's recommendation, the Goa-SEIAA, in its meeting on March 26, 2025, approved the project for implementation. The project will occupy a plot spanning 8,184 square meters and will feature a built-up area of 41,360 square meters. The communication address for the project is registered under Delta Pleasure Cruise Company, which is associated with the development.

This clearance marks a significant step in the transformation of the site from its original residential designation to a commercial hotel, expected to contribute to the hospitality sector in Panaji. The approval process involved a thorough evaluation of the environmental implications, in line with state regulations, to ensure that the project aligns with sustainable development practices.
