In a significant move to reclaim government land and improve urban planning, a demolition drive will commence this week in Gurugram and Faridabad, targeting unauthorized structures, encroachments, and illegal constructions. The drive, initiated by local authorities, underscores a robust approach towards urban development, ensuring that the cities adhere to their master plans and regulations.

Gurugram, known for its rapid urbanization, has faced challenges with unauthorized constructions, which hinder infrastructure development and lead to congestion. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) have identified key areas where unauthorized structures are rampant. The focus will be on demolishing illegal commercial establishments, residential encroachments, and unauthorized colonies that violate zoning laws.

Faridabad, another rapidly growing city in the National Capital Region (NCR), also grapples with similar issues. The Faridabad Municipal Corporation (FMC) and the DTCP will collaborate to remove encroachments on public land and unauthorized buildings that compromise the city's planned development. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to enhance urban infrastructure, ensure compliance with building norms, and improve the quality of life for residents.
