India Drives Over 70% of APAC Office Leasing in H1 2026

Office leasing across 11 key Asia Pacific markets rose 3% year-on-year to 4.6 million sq m, or 49.5 million sq ft, during H1 2026, according to Colliers’ Asia Pacific Office Market Insights H1 2026 report.

India accounted for more than 70% of total leasing during the period, while India, Mainland China and Japan collectively contributed over 95% of regional demand. Hong Kong and Taiwan recorded some of the strongest demand growth, supported by improving business confidence and renewed occupier expansion.

New office supply across the 11 markets declined 37% year-on-year to 3 million sq m, or 32.3 million sq ft. India and Mainland China together accounted for more than 80% of new completions.

Arpit Mehrotra, Managing Director, Office Services, Colliers India, said India continued to anchor office leasing in the region, supported by strong demand fundamentals and the expansion of global capability centres. India also accounted for over two-thirds of the region’s demand and supply during H1 2026.

Vimal Nadar, National Director and Head of Research, Colliers India, said sustained business confidence, expansion plans and preference for high-quality workplaces are expected to support office demand across APAC, with India likely to remain a major leasing market.

Colliers expects office activity across Asia Pacific to remain healthy in H2 2026. Firm occupier demand and constrained supply in several key markets could tighten vacancy levels and support rental growth, particularly for high-quality office assets.

Saluting Engineers on Engineer’s Day!

India’s infrastructure story is often told through kilometres of highways, soaring bridges, expanding metro networks and tunnels through some of the country’s toughest terrain. Less visible are the engineering decisions behind them. A railway through the Himalayas. A bridge across Mumbai Bay. A metro system built beneath a crowded capital. A 182-m-high structural landmark. A new generation of high-speed highways. Each demanded years of design, testing, coordination and problem-solving, often in conditions where there was little room for error. This Engineers’ Day, we lo..
