Over 1.47 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries to get Rs 700 cr from PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi has announced that the first instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) would be given to over 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura. It will also provide impetus towards empowering the people.

PM Modi tweeted that the first instalment of PMAY-G would be given to 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura at 1 PM. It will provide an impetus for empowering the people of the state.

According to an official statement, the first instalment would be transferred over through video conferencing. Over Rs 700 crore would be credited directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries of Tripura, it said.

It also said that those beneficiaries living in kuccha houses would be assisted in constructing a pucca house in Tripura, taking into account the geo-climatic condition of the state.

In the meeting, the Minister of Urban Development, Giriraj Singh, and CM of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb were also present.
