Thane Zilla Parishad to map & create database of properties

According to officials, the Thane Zilla Parishad is attempting to map and create a uniform digital database of its roughly 9500 properties worth thousands of crores that are dispersed around the district to maximise them and protect it from encroachment and ensuing litigation. The exercise entails mapping all every property controlled by the government in Thane district, including all schools, offices, community centres, playgrounds, and open areas. As part of the effort, these properties will be geo-tagged in official records and digitally mapped using drones.

The government will always have access to the most recent online updates of information on the land, ownership or even lease tenure, including any disputes and recent encroachments. The goal is to compile a comprehensive list of all our properties so that we can instantly get information about them by pressing a button.
