WSB Invests Rs 3 Bn in Mumbai Opportunities Strategy

WSB Real Estate Partners, a leading alternative asset manager, announced its strategic foray specifically in the Mumbai Real Estate Sector with the "Mumbai Opportunities Strategy.", an initiative that aligns with WSB’s commitment to exploring early stage opportunities in Mumbai’s promising real estate market.

Mumbai’s real estate has experienced a sustained upward trajectory in recent years, particularly post-pandemic, underpinned by various factors like favorable economic conditions, accelerated infrastructure development improving connectivity, and rising affordability driven by income growth. WSB has already invested over ?300 crore in early-stage opportunities through equity-like structures and special situations funding intending to optimize capital structures in development projects. The Mumbai Opportunities Strategy targets early-stage developments, capturing value at the land and pre-approval stages through structured, equity-like transactions with back-ended cash flows. Leveraging its deep-rooted expertise and partnerships with leading developers, WSB aims to generate superior returns with downside protection. While continuing post-approval debt transactions, the firm recognizes the rising demand for early-stage equity capital, making Mumbai the ideal launchpad for this strategic expansion.

Investments have been made across various asset classes including commercial office, residential & retail with experienced development partners including Notandas Realty, Vijay Khetan Group, Bagasrawala Corporation amongst others.
