Piyush Goyal Invites French Investment In Manufacturing Sector

Union minister Piyush Goyal invited French investors to increase engagement in India's manufacturing sector during a meeting with representatives of French industry. He outlined the government's focus on expanding domestic manufacturing capacity and described opportunities across machinery, defence, electric mobility and green technologies. The minister noted that policy reforms and incentive schemes aim to make India an attractive base for global production and value chains. He pointed to sector agnostic reforms and to faster approvals as incentives for long term investors.

He urged French companies to explore partnership models ranging from joint ventures to contract manufacturing and to use India as a regional manufacturing hub. The minister highlighted recent steps to simplify business procedures, improve ease of doing business and support technology transfer without specifying financial figures. He also drew attention to initiatives intended to strengthen supplier ecosystems and to reduce logistical bottlenecks.

Goyal framed the call to investors within a broader strategy to deepen strategic economic ties between India and France, emphasising collaboration in advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and research and development. He described opportunities for investment in clean energy supply chains and in components relevant to electric vehicles and semiconductor equipment. The minister welcomed long term capital that would help upgrade skills and local supplier capacity. He also referenced collaborative research programmes and skill development initiatives to support quality manufacturing and local innovation.

The outreach follows sustained diplomatic engagement and seeks to translate high level dialogue into concrete industrial projects. Officials will pursue follow up discussions with French firms and bilateral chambers to identify project pipelines and regulatory facilitation. The minister indicated that enhanced cooperation would boost employment, technology absorption and bilateral trade over time.

"Join industry leaders at RAHSTA Expo, India's premier platform for roads, highways and traffic infrastructure. Register now to explore innovations, network with experts and shape the future of mobility."
