TuTr partners with IIT Madras for hyperloop IP development

The deep tech startup TuTr Hyperloop, which has emerged from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) incubation program, is collaborating with the institute to develop Intellectual Property (IP) in the field of hyperloop technology. Additionally, the startup has formed a partnership with Tata Steel to facilitate the development and implementation of hyperloop technology on a large scale.

At present, TuTr is in the final stages of reaching an agreement with an Indian engineering, procurement, and construction services company to establish the necessary infrastructure and systems for hyperloop technology. In line with this, TuTr Hyperloop recently entered into an IP agreement with IIT Madras.

TuTr Hyperloop, a deep-tech startup, has been based at the National Centre for Combustion Research and Development (NCCRD) within IIT Madras since 2022. Its primary objective is to build upon the progress made by CFI Team Avishkar and concentrate on commercialising hyperloop technologies.

TuTr's mission is to provide customers with fast and dependable "on-demand" transportation that is not only affordable but also more environmentally friendly compared to other modes of transport. TuTr aims to leverage its partnership with IIT Madras and its close association with India's largest deep tech ecosystem to accelerate the development of cost-effective hyperloop technologies.

The initial focus will be on enhancing cargo movement to address the pain points of various stakeholders and improve their productivity. This will serve as the first step towards implementing high-speed mobility corridors for passenger transportation across India and globally.

Furthermore, TuTr Hyperloop recently established a strategic partnership with Hardt Hyperloop, a leading European hyperloop technology firm, with the goal of achieving interoperable hyperloop technology between Europe and India.
