Adani Enterprises and MetTube Join Forces for Copper Tubes Venture

Adani Enterprises (AEL) has signed a Share Purchase and Shareholders Agreement with MetTube Mauritius, marking a strategic collaboration to strengthen India’s domestic copper tube manufacturing capacity. This partnership is set to reduce import dependence and support the country’s growing HVAC and renewable infrastructure needs.

Under the agreement, Adani will divest a 50 per cent stake in its wholly owned subsidiary, Kutch Copper Tubes (KCTL), to MetTube. In parallel, Adani will invest in MetTube Copper India, which operates a copper tube manufacturing plant near Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

MetTube, part of the global Metdist Group, brings extensive expertise in producing high-performance copper tubes. The partnership complements Adani’s advanced copper infrastructure in Mundra, Gujarat, which includes a greenfield copper tube facility under KCTL.

Jeet Adani, Whole Time Director, Adani Group, said:
“This partnership with MetTube is a strategic leap towards making India self-reliant in copper tube manufacturing. By combining Adani’s infrastructure and operational excellence with MetTube’s global expertise, we are not just building capacity—we are building capability.”

Apurv Bagri, Chairman, Metdist Group, added:
“Together with Adani, we aim to deliver high-quality, locally manufactured copper tubes that meet global standards. This alliance supports the 'Make in India' vision and our shared ambition for sustainable innovation.”

The partnership leverages Adani’s forward-integrated copper ecosystem—anchored by a 0.5 MTPA copper refinery—and MetTube’s international manufacturing capabilities. The copper tubes will serve critical applications in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and green construction sectors, addressing surging demand driven by rapid urbanisation and climate-focused infrastructure development.
