KBL Launches Smart Skid Mounted Fire Pump Set

Kirloskar Brothers (KBL) has launched its Smart Skid Mounted Fire Pump Set, an integrated fire protection solution designed to improve operational efficiency, remote monitoring and installation flexibility. The system was inaugurated by Ms Madhuritai Misal, Hon. Minister of State for Urban Development, Government of Maharashtra.

The Smart Skid Mounted Fire Pump Set is a factory-tested, pre-packaged solution that combines FM/UL-certified motor and engine pump sets with IoT-enabled remote monitoring. Designed to deliver a flow rate of 170 m³/hr at a head of 100 metres, the system aims to provide reliable fire protection with real-time performance visibility and predictive maintenance capabilities.

Its plug-and-play configuration reduces the need for extensive civil foundations and specialised on-site labour, helping lower installation time and project costs. The system also incorporates built-in safety features and OEM-backed quality assurance to improve operational reliability.

At the centre of the solution is KirloSmart™ Fire, KBL’s IoT-based monitoring platform that enables real-time tracking of pump performance from remote locations. The platform is intended to support proactive maintenance and minimise equipment downtime. Depending on project requirements, the skid-mounted system can be integrated with both standard fire pump sets and MSMO (Multi Stage Multi Outlet) fire pump systems.

The Smart Skid Mounted Fire Pump Set is designed for commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, educational institutions, railway stations, warehouses, industrial facilities, residential developments and construction sites. Its retrofit-ready design also supports upgrades of ageing fire protection systems, particularly in space-constrained locations.

KBL said the launch strengthens its portfolio of fire protection solutions, which includes fire pump sets, drivers, controllers and related accessories for industrial, commercial and infrastructure applications. By combining digital monitoring with firefighting equipment, the company aims to support the development of more reliable and future-ready fire safety systems.
