AP Clears Electronics Policy, Eyes Rs 800 Bn Investment

At a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat on Thursday, the Andhra Pradesh Electronics Components Manufacturing Policy 4.0 (2025–30) was approved.
Minister for Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy stated that the policy aims to accelerate industrial activity and attract large-scale domestic and global investment into the electronics components manufacturing ecosystem.
Companies investing in Andhra Pradesh under this policy will benefit from advance and matching incentives, interim support measures, and plug-and-play manufacturing facilities within designated clusters. Special concessions will also be available for mega projects.
The policy is expected to significantly boost employment in regions such as Sri City, Orvakal, Kopparthi, and Hindupur, and is designed to attract USD 150 billion in investment over its tenure.
In the same meeting, the Cabinet approved Rs800 billion worth of investment proposals, projected to generate employment for 1.5 lakh people.
Based on the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) recommendations, the Cabinet allocated 3.6 acres at IT Hill No. 3, Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam at Rs1 crore per acre and 50 acres at Paradesipalem at Rs50 million per acre to Sify Infinite Spaces Ltd via APIIC, enabling a Rs16.47 billion investment and the creation of 600 jobs.
This strategic move is expected to transform Visakhapatnam into a major data hub, enhancing its appeal for technology firms and bolstering capacities in cloud computing, data storage, and digital infrastructure, the minister added.
The Cabinet also approved the Technical Committee’s recommendations for completing 20 ongoing packages under the Andhra Pradesh Urban Water Supply and Septage Management Improvement Project (APUWS&SMIP), funded by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and to invite tenders for remaining works.
