C&D charges to make building plan approval costlier

As fees imposed under the Construction and Demolition Management Policy 2022 on new and altered construction plans would be collected going forward, getting a building plan authorized in Chandigarh will now be more expensive.

The policy went into force in February of this year, but the fees weren't paid until today. The UT estate office also intends to charge applicants who had their plans approved after February for similar fees.

According to clause 9(i) of the policy, C&D fees are charged for online applications for new and altered building plans.

The estate office recently requested that Chandigarh Smart City Ltd (CSCL) update its webpage for the online building plan approval system (OBPAS). The estate office requested that the CSCL add the fees to be assessed in accordance with the C&D in the OBPAS.
