Dana India drives community eco initiatives

In a bid to revitalise local ecosystems and support community wellbeing, Dana India has accomplished two CSR initiatives at Charal and Gokulpra in the Sanand region of Gujarat. These projects, focused on critical water resources, exemplify DANA's commitment to environmental stewardship and improving the quality of life for residents.

The first project involved the cleaning and rejuvenation of a pond in Charal Village, aimed at enhancing water quality and ecosystem restoration for the 3,500 villagers. Funded by Graziano Trasmissioni India (an affiliated company of Dana Incorporated), the project was completed in December 2023.

The second project focused on increasing the water storage capacity in Gokulpura Village, home to a larger population of 5,500 residents. Also sponsored by Graziano Trasmissioni India, this project was completed in March 2024. Through these efforts, Dana India aims to make a significant difference in the lives of residents and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable environment.

"Water is a precious resource and access to clean water and sustainable resources is fundamental to the health of a community. We, at Dana, are committed to supporting community development.", said Gajanan Gandhe, Country Head and VP, Dana India. "Our focus on water resource management in Charal and Gokulpura is part of Dana's broader mission to support environmental sustainability and make a tangible difference."
