Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu has directed the Delhi Development Authority to revive 32 historic ghats at Yamuna Bazar and start phased work within six months. The authority has removed 88,574 tonnes of construction and demolition waste and 4,998 tonnes of municipal waste from the floodplains, reclaiming around 1,425 acres. The project includes landscaping, improved pedestrian connectivity, visitor amenities and heritage-sensitive design to strengthen public access and support conservation-led riverfront development along the Yamuna riverfront in Delhi for visitors.
