DMFT spurs Rajasthan's infrastructure with Rs 6,000 crore projects

Projects worth Rs 62.67 billion have received approval out of the Rs 82.70 billion amassed under the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) in Rajasthan. This update was provided by a senior official from the mines department. The state has undertaken more than 20,187 infrastructure development projects within mining districts, with 12,659 already completed at a cost of Rs 37.41 billion, as reported by the official.

Veenu Gupta, ACS (mines), announced that DMFT's governing council meetings will convene every six months to expedite decision-making and project endorsements. Emphasis will also be placed on meticulously supervising the quality of structural work. Gupta highlighted that 60% of the funds have been allocated to critical amenities such as clean water supply, environmental conservation, healthcare, education, and welfare programs for women and children.

Furthermore, approximately 40% of the funds have been earmarked for irrigation, energy, water conservation initiatives, road construction, and aiding silicosis victims. Gupta stated that district-level project monitoring units will be established to ensure the efficient execution and quality of work. This proactive approach seeks to identify required interventions promptly. Across the country, District Mineral Foundations have been established in 626 districts spanning 23 states, reflecting the commitment to fostering regional development.
