DoLR to Host Workshop on Modern Land Tech in Himachal

The Department of Land Resources, in partnership with the Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Land Records, will organise a two-day national workshop on modern technologies in land administration on 20–21 November 2025 in Kullu. The event will review progress under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme and bring together senior officials from States and Union Territories to discuss challenges and best practices.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will address the inaugural session, alongside the State Revenue Minister and the Secretary of the Department of Land Resources. The programme will also feature an address by the Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha.

Sessions will cover reforms in registration systems, real-time geospatial mapping, drone-based surveys, e-registration, and blockchain-supported title validation. Discussions will also explore technology partnerships, capacity building, and legal reforms required for seamless digital land governance.

Experts from Survey of India, LBSNAA and technology companies including ESRI India, Hexagon India and MapmyIndia will join the deliberations. The workshop aims to chart policy and system-level interventions to accelerate modern, transparent and citizen-focused land administration across the country.

Implementation Status of Jal Jeevan Mission

Since August 2019 the Government has implemented Jal Jeevan Mission to provide assured potable water through household tap connections in rural India. At the start of the mission only 32.3 million (mn) rural households, representing 16.7 per cent, were reported to have tap water connections.
