Google Opens One of Its Largest Offices in Bengaluru, Names It Ananta

Google has opened a new office in Bengaluru, naming it Ananta, one of its largest globally. Derived from Sanskrit, Ananta means “infinite,” symbolising Google’s vision of limitless technological possibilities.

In a blog post, Google highlighted the office’s innovative design, featuring one of India’s largest electro-chromic glass installations for energy efficiency and natural light. The layout includes dedicated “neighbourhoods” for teams and Sabha, a central open space for discussions.

The company has prioritised accessibility with tactile flooring, braille signage, and inclusive amenities. The campus also reflects Bengaluru’s Garden City essence, incorporating green spaces, walking trails, and relaxation areas.

Sustainability is a key focus, with Ananta recycling all wastewater, harvesting rainwater, and using smart glass to reduce energy consumption. Most interior materials have been locally sourced to lower the carbon footprint.

Google stated in its blog post that the launch of Ananta marks another milestone in its ongoing commitment to India’s digital growth and innovation.
