DHL Express Appoints Karen Tan as CIO for Asia Pacific

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has named Karen Tan as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Asia Pacific, effective 1 September 2025. Based in Singapore, she succeeds Jimmy Yeoh, who will retire on 31 December 2025 after 33 years with the company. 

 Tan previously served as CIO for DHL Express Singapore, where she led the rollout of a nationwide digitalisation framework, strengthened data protection, and improved employee engagement scores. She also championed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) initiatives and acted as the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) Champion. 

 In her new role, she will oversee IT infrastructure, digital acceleration, and cybersecurity across over 40 countries and territories.

Our Strategy 2030 has also firmly emphasised growing this segment to accelerate digital innovation for enhanced customer experience,” said Ken Lee, CEO, Asia Pacific, DHL Express. “Karen’s proven track record in driving digital acceleration, data protection, and cross-functional collaboration makes her the ideal leader to take our Asia Pacific IT function to the next level.”

 Tan began her career at DHL Express in 1990 as a customer service trainer and has held roles across IT, commercial, and operations. She served as Vice President of Operations Programmes for Asia Pacific from 2014 before becoming CIO for DHL Express Singapore in 2021.
