L&T to Build Major Expansion Project for Leading MENA Steel Producer

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Minerals & Metals (M&M) business has secured a significant contract to establish a Pellet Plant and a Direct Reduction of Iron (DRI) Plant for a prominent steel producer in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region. This expansion aligns with global efforts toward decarbonization.

The project encompasses design, engineering, supply, erection, and construction, leveraging globally recognised technologies. L&T, with its extensive experience in delivering iron and steel manufacturing plants worldwide, continues to reinforce its expertise in executing large-scale, design-build steel projects.

“This project highlights M&M’s leadership in executing complex iron and steel plants in the MENA region while maintaining global quality, safety, and timely completion standards,” said DK Sen, Executive Committee Member and Advisor to the CMD, L&T.

L&T’s M&M vertical provides end-to-end EPC solutions across industries, including mining, minerals processing, cement, construction, steel, and fertilisers, further solidifying its position as a key player in the metallurgical sector.
