NMCG Approves Projects Worth Rs 794 Crore for Ganga Rejuvenation and Sanitation

Key Projects Approved: Uttar Pradesh: Chandauli Project (Rs 263 Crore): Construction of a 45 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant under the Hybrid Annuity Model, alongside the development of supporting infrastructure and 15 years of operation and maintenance (O&M).

Manikpur Project (Rs 9 Crore): Establishment of a 15 KLD Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant, coupled with a 35 KW solar power plant for eco-friendly operations and five years of O&M.

Bihar: Buxar Project (Rs 257 Crore): Construction of a 50 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant under the DBOT model, including a 1 MLD nature-based STP and the development of a 8.68 km sewer network and three interception pumping stations. O&M will be carried out for the next 15 years. West Bengal:

Uttarpara-Kotrung Municipality Project (Rs 8 Crore): Development of a 22 KLD Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant under the DBOT model, with five years of O&M. Broader Impact and Sustainability Goals: The approved projects aim to establish pollution-free infrastructure for the Ganga River, advancing efforts in environmental protection and sustainable development. These initiatives will tackle challenges such as enhancing sewage and faecal sludge management, integrating renewable energy solutions like solar power, and utilising nature-based approaches for eco-friendly infrastructure.

Stakeholder Participation: The meeting saw contributions from key officials including Smt. Richa Mishra, Joint Secretary and Financial Advisor, DoWR, RD&GR, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Shri Brijendra Swaroop, Executive Director (Projects), NMCG, Shri Anup Kumar Srivastava, ED (Technical), Smt. The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) sanctioned Rs 794 crore worth of vital projects aimed at conserving and rejuvenating the Ganga River during its 59th Executive Committee (EC) meeting, chaired by Rajeev Kumar Mital, Director-General of NMCG. These initiatives reinforce the commitment to the river’s cleanliness, sustainable development, and environmental preservation. Six WOLFF Cranes Handle 60,000 m³ Concrete for German Hospital

Six WOLFF tower cranes are playing a key role in constructing a new hospital complex in Memmingen, Germany, supporting large-scale material handling for the project.
