PM Modi unveils Rs 70 bn development boost in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a series of development initiatives totalling approximately Rs 70 billion in Chittorgarh. Among the projects inaugurated were the Mehsana-Bhatinda-Gurdaspur Gas Pipeline, an LPG Plant by HPCL in Abu Road, expanded storage at IOCL's bottling plant in Ajmer, enhanced tourism facilities in Nathdwara, the permanent campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Kota, and a four-lane road on NH-12 (New NH-52) in the Darah-Jhalawar-Teendhar section, constructed at a cost of over Rs 14.80 billion.

Addressing the audience, Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries and expressed gratitude for the nationwide cleanliness campaign. He emphasised Gandhi's principles of cleanliness, self-reliance, and competitive development, emphasising that these ideals have guided the nation's progress over the past nine years. Modi highlighted the ongoing nationwide effort to establish gas pipelines, bolstering the country's gas-based economy. He stated that the railway and road projects inaugurated would significantly improve the lives of the people of Mewar.

Modi underscored the importance of the Shri Sanwaliyaji Temple in the business community, noting that modern amenities have been added to the temple under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. He reiterated the government's commitment to Rajasthan's development, emphasising the focus on modern infrastructure such as expressways, highways, and railways in the state. He mentioned key projects like the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway, which are set to enhance Rajasthan's logistics sector. Additionally, he highlighted Rajasthan's substantial gains from the Bharatmala project and the Centre's Vibrant Village Programme, benefiting numerous border villages in the state. Modi also pointed out that the newly inaugurated four-lane road on NH-12 would facilitate easier transportation of mining produce from Kota and Jhalawar districts. He laid the foundation stone for the widening of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Sawai Madhopur, addressing traffic congestion in the area. Furthermore, he inaugurated the doubling of the Chittorgarh-Neemuch railway line and the electrified railway line between Kota and Chittorgarh.
