Piyush Goyal To Visit Germany For Strategic, Trade Talks

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, will undertake an official visit to Berlin, Germany, from 23 October 2025. The visit marks a significant milestone in India’s engagement with Germany, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the India–Germany Strategic Partnership — a testament to the strength, depth, and resilience of bilateral relations.

During the visit, Minister Goyal will hold high-level meetings with senior German government officials, business leaders, and trade associations to reinforce the Indo–German economic relationship and explore new avenues for cooperation in trade and investment.

He will meet Ms Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Dr Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery and Germany’s G7 and G20 Sherpa. The discussions will focus on advancing bilateral trade ties, promoting industrial collaboration, and identifying opportunities for investment in emerging technologies and sustainable industries.

In addition, Minister Goyal will hold talks with Mr Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg. Their meeting will cover the expansion of bilateral trade relations, Luxembourg’s upcoming State Visit to India, and key regional and global developments of mutual interest.

As part of his Berlin itinerary, Shri Goyal will participate as a speaker at the third Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD) — a prestigious annual forum bringing together leaders from business, government, and academia to address global economic issues. The Minister will feature as a panellist in the session titled “Leaders’ Dialogue: Growing Together – Trade and Alliances in a Changing World.” The session will explore strategies for navigating an evolving trade landscape, enhancing market access, and building sustainable, inclusive global trade frameworks.

A key component of the visit includes one-on-one meetings with CEOs of leading German corporations such as Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility Solutions, Herrenknecht AG, Infineon Technologies AG, Enertrag SE, and Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Shri Goyal will also chair a roundtable with CEOs of Germany’s Mittelstand companies and meet representatives of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Asia-Pacific Association of German Business (APA). These engagements aim to foster stronger business-to-business linkages and promote investment partnerships in sectors including sustainability, innovation, and advanced manufacturing.

The visit underscores the growing strategic alignment between India and its European partners. It seeks to translate high-level policy dialogue into long-term economic partnerships that strengthen innovation, enhance resilience, and deliver shared, sustainable growth.
