Sebi Proposes Stricter Financial Disclosures for REITs, InvITs

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has proposed new disclosure norms requiring Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) to provide detailed financial information in their offer documents, aligning them with public issue and listing requirements. The draft circular aims to enhance transparency in financial disclosures both at the time of the offering and in ongoing compliance post-listing. These changes stem from recommendations by the Working Group on Ease of Doing Business for REITs and InvITs, as well as inputs from the Indian REITs Association, Bharat InvITs Association, and internal discussions within Sebi. The Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) extension towards Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) via the Mumbai University campus has entered its final stage, bringing motorists closer to a direct, signal-free connection between the Western Express Highway and the city’s commercial district. Raiganj Member of Parliament Kartik Chandra Paul met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi to press for a new stretch of national highway in North Dinajpur district. Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) has invited tenders for two detailed project reports that would extend its rail network to Chengalpattu in the south and extend Corridor-5 to Wimco Nagar in the north as part of a second wave of expansion beyond the operator's corridors under construction.
