SHM Shipcare, Medhavi University Partner on Maritime Skills

SHM Shipcare has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Medhavi Skills University and secured official affiliation for SHM Academy to strengthen skill development in India’s maritime sector.

Under the collaboration, SHM Academy will operate as an industry-integrated learning platform, combining academic instruction with practical exposure to maritime operations and safety practices.

The academy will offer structured training programmes for students, early-career professionals and individuals seeking specialised maritime skills. The curriculum will cover marine safety systems, vessel inspections, firefighting systems, alternative fuels, fire watch training, technical operations, regulatory compliance and workplace safety.

The affiliation will enable learners to access industry-relevant education aligned with recognised academic standards while improving their employability across the maritime ecosystem.

Saifuddin Hajee, Group Chairman and CEO, SHM Shipcare, said the collaboration would integrate academic learning with practical exposure and equip learners with technical expertise and industry-ready skills.
