Sinoboom Upgrades Boom Lifts With SmartHub Screen

Sinoboom has introduced SmartHub Screen, a fully upgraded large-format display for larger boom lifts, developed to improve operation, ownership and fleet management. The display was showcased for customer experience during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026.

The SmartHub Screen offers four key functions: intelligent manual-free diagnosis and maintenance, complete visualised machine status, closed-loop permission security and an eight-language multilingual operating interface.

The system supports fast, tool-free fault diagnosis and resolution through an expanded fault library, guided repair instructions and OTA remote updates. Built on a structured CAN network, it enables clearer machine status visualisation, improved troubleshooting, CAN-ID setup and sensor calibration for daily operation and monitoring.

SmartHub Screen also strengthens machine security with traceable access control and data protection. Its multi-level dynamic password system enables secure logins, while the upgraded EDR black box function stores operational logs and data for root-cause analysis.

The solution is being rolled out across almost all Sinoboom boom lifts, supporting improved efficiency, reduced downtime and stronger smart fleet management capabilities.

Jharkhand Researchers Develop Eco-Friendly Solar Cell

A team from the Department of Energy Engineering at the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) has developed an eco-friendly solar cell that uses a plant-based natural dye extracted from the petals of Mirabilis jalapa (commonly known as Gulabbas or Four O'Clock Flower). The researchers described the work as part of ongoing laboratory studies to explore sustainable alternatives to conventional photovoltaics. The device builds on dye-sensitised solar cell concepts adapted for locally available botanical materials. The lead researcher said the developed solar cell had achieved a highest power conv..
