Subex Wins AI Agents Contract with African Telecom Operator

Subex has secured a 1-year, USD 0.72 mn contract with an existing Tier-1 African telecommunications operator to deploy its AI Agent Squads for fraud investigation and root-cause analysis within revenue assurance operations. The international engagement was disclosed under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s listing regulations.

The deployment will support fraud alarm investigation, anomaly detection and case analysis across the operator’s fraud management and revenue assurance functions. Subex said the specialised agents would connect signals, analyse patterns and help analysts establish the context behind suspicious activity, reducing manual investigative effort and enabling teams to move from alerts to actionable findings more quickly.

The company said the contract represents a wider shift in telecom fraud management and revenue assurance, from systems that primarily detect suspicious activity or data discrepancies to generative artificial intelligence-enabled operations that can investigate and explain them. The engagement is also intended to strengthen the operator’s use of AI-driven fraud investigation and Revenue Assurance (RA) Root Cause Analysis (RCA) capabilities.

Subex Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Nisha Dutt said the contract demonstrated the company’s move from detection-led platforms towards investigation, reasoning and more autonomous operations. She said the customer had progressed from using Subex’s core platforms to adopting AI-led analytics and now AI agents, while the company was embedding specialised agents into established telecom workflows under human supervision.

Subex said the engagement would help make investigations more intelligent, accelerate resolution and expand the role of artificial intelligence in protecting revenue and managing risk. The company combines more than 30 years of telecom domain expertise with AI-native technology and provides business assurance, fraud management and partner ecosystem management solutions to communications service providers worldwide.
