TGSRTC Becomes India’s First Public Transport Body to Integrate AI

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has become the first public transport organisation in India to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) across its operations, aiming to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve commuter services, and promote employee welfare.

TGSRTC has partnered with Hansa Equity Partners LLP to implement AI solutions across all depots. Key initiatives include AI-based employee health monitoring, automated demand-driven bus scheduling, and performance tracking to streamline operations.

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar reviewed the project on Wednesday at Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat, along with senior officials including Vikas Raj, IAS, and VC Sajjanar, Managing Director, TGSRTC.

The initiative builds on the Strategic Deployment Plan launched in 2021, which laid the foundation for modernisation and digital transformation of the corporation. Sajjanar described AI adoption as a strategic leap that will position TGSRTC as a national benchmark in smart transport management.
