Thermax Subsidiary Wins Rs. 16,000 mn Boiler Order

Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Energy Solutions Limited (TBWES), a wholly owned subsidiary of Thermax Limited, has secured a boiler package supply order valued at approximately Rs. 16,000 mn for an ultra-supercritical thermal power project in central India. The order is for a one by 800 megawatt (MW) boiler package for a new plant being developed by a leading thermal power projects company. The contract positions TBWES to deliver a major equipment package for utility-scale power generation and supports domestic manufacturing orders. The value cited reflects the equipment and associated services to be supplied under the pact.

The scope of work covers manufacturing, supply, supervision of installation and commissioning, and performance testing of the boiler package. Execution will be aligned with project milestones and delivery schedules as defined in the contract, and the company will coordinate with the principal contractor for site activities. The procurement and delivery plan is expected to follow standard industry timelines for large boiler packages. TBWES will be responsible for integration of the boiler with auxiliary systems to meet operational requirements.

The managing director and chief executive officer of Thermax noted that the order represents a significant breakthrough and affirmed the company’s capabilities in large scale energy solutions while thanking the customer for their trust. TBWES supplies equipment and solutions for generating steam through combustion of solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and through heat recovery from turbine and engine exhaust and industrial waste heat. The unit also offers heaters for the chemical, petrochemical and refinery sectors and provides renovation, modernisation and digital solutions for legacy boilers and heaters.

Thermax Limited is a leading company in the energy and environment space with a portfolio spanning clean air, clean energy, clean water and chemical solutions and provides audit, consulting, execution and maintenance services. The company operates sixteen manufacturing facilities across India, Europe and Southeast Asia and has more than forty five Indian and international subsidiaries.
