TVS Mobility and Palfinger to Pursue Defence Sector Opportunities

TVS Mobility Private Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding with Austria headquartered PALFINGER AG to jointly explore opportunities in the Indian defence sector and to provide integrated mobility, dealership and aftermarket solutions. The agreement, announced in Chennai on February twenty third, envisages collaboration that combines PALFINGER AG’s specialised equipment technologies with TVS Mobility Group’s operational capabilities and domain expertise. The partners intend to develop supply chain, rental and lifecycle services tailored to defence requirements.\n\nAs part of the arrangement, PALFINGER AG will invest Rs 3.5 billion (bn) in the first phase of its Strategy 2030 growth plan to establish a manufacturing plant in Pune by calendar year 2027. TVS Mobility Group will support the investment by enabling supply chain readiness, market access and long term service support through its integrated ecosystem. The companies expect the manufacturing capacity to serve both domestic demand and export markets.\n\nTVS Mobility Group will leverage the combined strengths of TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS), TVS Automobile Solutions (TVS ASL) and TVS Smart Mobility (TVS SM) to deliver end to end logistics, dealership, aftermarket and mobility services. Separate contractual arrangements will govern relationships between the subsidiaries and PALFINGER AG while the Group coordinates operational readiness and go to market activities. The collaboration is designed to improve parts availability, accelerate service responsiveness and strengthen aftermarket coverage.\n\nCompany leadership framed the pact as a strategic building block for PALFINGER AG’s APAC ambitions under Strategy 2030 and as a means to create a scalable platform for sustainable growth. TVS Mobility leadership indicated the partnership will enable faster market access, operational efficiency and scalable lifecycle support to underpin PALFINGER AG’s expansion in India. The memorandum follows earlier cooperation between the organisations and is intended to deepen supply chain integration and long term customer support.
