UP govt approves construction of bus station in Ayodhya at Rs 400 cr

The Uttar Pradesh government has approved a proposal on Monday to build a bus station in Ayodhya that meets international standards for Rs 400 crore.

A proposal for the construction of a four-lane flyover on the Ayodhya-Sultanpur road was also approved by the cabinet.

The decisions were taken at an in-person cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Cabinet minister Siddharth Nath Singh told the media a proposal to construct an international-standard bus station has been approved. The transport department will be given nine acres of land from the culture department to build the bus station. The bus station, which will cost Rs 400 crore to construct, will provide devotees with all necessary amenities.

From this station, buses will run between Ayodhya and all of the state's major cities.

Singh said that the state also approved a proposal to construct a four-lane flyover on the Ayodhya-Sultanpur road. The 1.5 km long flyover will cost over Rs 20 crore to construct.

A bus station in Anoopshahr, Bulandshahr and a four-lane flyover on GT Road in Allahabad was also approved by the cabinet. In June and July, the ministers in charge of the state's various districts will conduct 'pravaas' (stay) at the block level. The ministers will inspect community health centres and primary health centres during their visits.
