VinFast Expands India EV Push with 50-plus E-motorcycle Showrooms

Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast has signed letters of intent (LoIs) with dealer partners to establish more than 50 electric two-wheeler showrooms across 34 cities in 15 states and territories in India. The agreements form part of the company’s plan to build a dedicated distribution network for e-motorcycles.

The signing ceremony was held at VinFast’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, during a visit by its Indian dealer partners. The planned network will cover Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan and Punjab in the North; Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh in central India; Maharashtra and Gujarat in the West; and Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh in the South.

West Bengal and Odisha will be covered in eastern India. VinFast said the regions represented large two-wheeler markets and offered considerable scope for electrification. It added that its presence in these locations would bring electric mobility products closer to consumers while supporting local distribution and customer service.

Vo Thi Cam Tu, managing director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, said the agreements reflected India’s importance to the company’s global growth strategy and its long-term commitment to the market. Anurag Saxena, chief executive officer of VinFast India E-Scooters, said the partnerships marked the beginning of the company’s effort to bring its electric motorcycles to customers nationwide.

VinFast also plans to develop charging infrastructure and strengthen after-sales services across the network. The company entered India’s electric mobility market in 2025, with activities spanning the distribution, manufacturing and assembly of electric cars. The latest agreements represent its first dedicated distribution network for electric two-wheelers in the country.

India recorded 21.41 mn two-wheelers in 2025-26, according to VinFast, making it the world’s largest two-wheeler market. EVs accounted for 6.54 per cent of registrations during the period. VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup JSC, offers electric sport utility vehicles, e-scooters and e-buses, and is expanding its distribution, dealership and manufacturing operations across several global markets.
