Welspun Corp Gains on US Arm’s Rs. 40 bn HFIW Pipe Order

Welspun Corp rose 3.84 per cent to Rs. 2,786.30 after announcing that its wholly owned US subsidiary, Welspun Tubular, had secured an order worth approximately Rs. 40 bn for supplying High-Frequency Induction Welded (HFIW) pipes. The order is the largest in Welspun Corp’s history in terms of volume, length and value.

The pipes will be manufactured at Welspun Tubular’s newly upgraded HFIW mill in Little Rock, in the US. The upgraded facility has enhanced manufacturing capabilities, and execution of the order is scheduled across FY28 and FY29. Following the order win, Welspun Corp’s global order book reached a record US$4.7 bn, equivalent to approximately Rs. 450 bn. This is the highest order-book level recorded in the company’s history and strengthens its position in the international line-pipe market.

Welspun Corp has a diversified portfolio covering line pipes, ductile iron pipes, stainless steel bars, pipes and tubes, and TMT rebars. It also owns Sintex, a brand focused on water storage tanks and advanced plastic piping solutions. The company serves customers in more than 50 countries across six continents, with manufacturing facilities in India, the US and Saudi Arabia.

The company’s consolidated net profit rose 198.64 per cent to Rs. 10.46 bn in Q1 FY27 from the year-earlier period. Revenue increased 14.91 per cent to Rs. 40.81 bn during the quarter, compared with Q1 FY26. The order announcement and record order book provide additional visibility for production and revenue over the next two financial years.
