JSW MG Motor Rises To No. 2 In India’s Luxury EV Market

JSW MG Motor India has climbed to the second position in India’s luxury electric vehicle (EV) segment, according to Vahan data for September 2025. The company’s growth has been fuelled by strong demand for two key models — the MG Cyberster and the MG M9 Presidential Limousine — both of which currently have a waiting period of three to four months.

Launched in July 2025, the MG Cyberster has become India’s highest-selling sports car, with 256 units sold through the brand’s premium retail network, MG Select.

“Securing the second spot in India’s luxury EV segment is a testament to the phenomenal response our models have received,” said Milind Shah, Interim Head of MG Select. “The MG Cyberster and the MG M9 Presidential Limousine cater to distinct segments of buyers — those seeking either performance or luxury-driven comfort.”

Expanding Luxury EV Footprint

To strengthen its premium EV portfolio, JSW MG Motor India has launched 14 MG Select Experience Centres across major Indian cities. These centres showcase the Cyberster and M9, offering customised retail experiences for high-end customers.

According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), JSW MG Motor India recorded 3,912 EV sales in September 2025, marking a threefold increase from 1,021 units sold during the same month last year.

The MG Cyberster, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivers 510 PS and 725 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. It comes equipped with electric scissor doors, a soft-top roof, Brembo four-piston brakes, and 20-inch Pirelli P-Zero tyres, combining performance and sophistication.

Meanwhile, the MG M9 Presidential Limousine continues to gain traction among business leaders and government clients. Positioned as a statement vehicle, the M9 offers premium design, superior comfort, and electric performance, reinforcing MG’s foothold in India’s growing luxury EV segment.

The company’s latest success underscores its ambition to dominate India’s high-end EV market, combining cutting-edge design, advanced technology, and an elevated ownership experience.
