NCL Invests Over Rs 10 Bn in CSR Initiatives Over 10 Years

Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL) has spent more than ?1,000 crore over the last decade on various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, aiming to improve the welfare of communities in its operational regions. The company’s CSR target for the ongoing financial year is ?172.97 crore.

NCL’s CSR initiatives have touched the lives of approximately 10 lakh people, with a focus on healthcare, education, and infrastructure. In the past fiscal year, the company allocated ?157 crore to CSR activities.

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal, NCL launched 'CHARAK- Community Health: A Responsive Action for Koylanchal,' a health initiative aimed at providing free treatment to economically disadvantaged patients suffering from life-threatening diseases.

This initiative is targeted at residents of Singrauli and Sonbhadra districts whose annual family income is below ?8 lakh. NCL’s CMD, B Sairam, emphasized that the project would significantly improve healthcare access for underprivileged communities in the region.
