Pidilite Industries Marks World Youth Skills Day by Strengthening Skilling Initiatives

On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day, Pidilite Industries, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, construction chemicals and art materials, reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment through vocational training and digital tools. With the construction and real estate sectors in India expected to generate 30 million jobs by 2030, skilling is seen as a critical enabler for the country’s growth.

Pidilite has trained over one lakh youth through its various initiatives, spanning trades such as plumbing, waterproofing, woodworking, construction, organic farming, interior design, art and decoration.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr Sudhanshu Vats, Managing Director of Pidilite Industries, said: “At Pidilite, we believe skilling is not just a pathway to employment—it is fundamental to nation-building. As India approaches its centenary in 2047, we must equip our youth with both hands-on capabilities and future-ready knowledge. Through our multi-pronged initiatives—Pidilite Woodworking and Plumbing Centre for Advanced Skills in collaboration with the Gujarat Government, Dr. Fixit Centres, partnerships with ITIs, and our new digital platform, Pidilite Bonding Expert—we are building an ecosystem that empowers individuals, strengthens industry linkages, and fosters inclusive growth. Our goal is not only to train the next generation but to inspire them to become catalysts of innovation and resilience.”

Pidilite has partnered with over 600 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. Its joint initiative with Gujarat Government’s Kaushalya University—the Pidilite Woodworking and Plumbing Centre for Advanced Skills—offers programmes ranging from short-term certifications to Honours degrees. Since its inception, the centre has certified over 2,800 individuals and trained India’s gold medallist in Joinery for the World Skills International 2024 in France.

The Dr. Fixit Institute further delivers specialist waterproofing courses for contractors, applicators, engineers and painters. Pidilite’s arts and crafts division also trains Fevicryl Specialists to transform hobbyists into certified professionals capable of conducting paid workshops.

To complement its on-ground initiatives, Pidilite has launched the Bonding Expert platform (https://pidilitebondingexpert.pidilite.com/), aimed at supporting practical learning for applicators and end-users.

Pidilite’s skilling programmes also focus on placement, infrastructure improvement at ITIs, and deeper industry connect through expert talks, alumni events, and hands-on training modules.

The company remains committed to building a skilled, resilient workforce aligned with India’s growth ambitions.
