35-kilometer metro line to connect Jewar International Airport

To connect the Noida Metro with the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).

DMRC proposed Rs 53.29 billion link metro from Knowledge Park-2 to Jewar Airport.

The Yamuna Expressway will run parallel to the 35 km long, six stations proposed metro rail line.

The remainder of it will be elevated, with 4.1 km of it being underground near the airport.

The remaining five stations will be elevated, while Noida Airport station will be an underground station.

According to DMRC, this link metro rail line can be constructed in 1.5 years. In addition, YEIDA intends to construct a second metro rail line as a connection between the upcoming Noida airport and the current IGI airport in Delhi.

A memorandum of understanding between YEIDA and DMRC was signed in September 2021 to work on a feasibility study for direct metro connectivity between Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar. This proposed Metro corridor is planned to be implemented in two phases.

Noida International Airport at Jewar will have access to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via a spur route in addition to metro connectivity to IGI Airport.
