Adani plans strategy for Mumbai, Navi Mumbai airports

In order to relieve congestion at the Mumbai international airport, the Adani Group has planned to develop a twin-airport strategy for the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai airports. The first step entails moving operations of turboprop aircraft to Navi Mumbai airport. By moving small aircraft operations to Navi Mumbai, which is anticipated to start operations by December 2024, the initiative aims to free up runway capacity at the Mumbai airport.

The group also intends to relocate a significant airline from Mumbai Airport to Navi Mumbai International Airport. Now, the main airlines serving the Mumbai airport are IndiGo, Vistara, and Air India.

The Adani Group also intends to gradually develop the property to include hotels, retail stores, and office space, making our airports "The Destination Magnet for Customers" in addition to providing convenience through a super-app.

According to Airports data from December, the seven operating airports operated by the Adani Group account for 23.7% of all passenger traffic in India.

Government of India Adani-run airports' share of freight transportation was 30.7% in December.
