Air India unveils mega warehouse in Delhi for enhanced fleet efficiency

Air India revealed the establishment of a massive warehouse facility in Delhi, designed to store over 1,000,000 essential engineering spares crucial for the maintenance, inspections, and repairs of its aircraft and ground support equipment. This strategic move is anticipated to significantly bolster Air India's fleet efficiency and operational capabilities, concurrently fortifying India's ever-expanding aviation network.

Situated near Terminal 3 within Delhi Airport's Air Cargo Logistics division, this centralised warehouse spans an impressive 54,000 square feet. Its strategic location aims to streamline and expedite the turnaround process for Air India flights departing from Delhi.

Campbell Wilson, the CEO and MD of Air India, expressed enthusiasm about the venture, stating, This state-of-the-art facility will not only enhance Air India's operational efficiency but also contribute to the robustness of India's aviation sector. By offering convenient access and meticulous control over our aircraft spares, the warehouse enables us to promptly address any engineering requirements, leading to improved flight punctuality.

This centralised facility marks a pivotal shift, consolidating the engineering resources essential for Air India, Air India Express, and AIX Connect fleets. By integrating 16 previously scattered locations in Delhi and Mumbai, this warehouse serves as a hub and feeder network, catering to operations across India. Its establishment signifies a significant step forward in enhancing the airline's responsiveness and overall service quality.
