IndiGo will launch non-stop flights between Guwahati and Bangkok from 27 October 2026, marking the carrier's first international operations from the city. A special inaugural service will operate on 27 October, with regular twice a week flights scheduled from 31 October on Wednesdays and Saturdays, subject to regulatory approvals. The new link will provide direct connectivity between Northeast India and Thailand and expand the airline's India–Thailand network. The inaugural Bangkok to Guwahati sector, flight 6E1086, is scheduled to depart Bangkok at 8:50 am and arrive in Guwahati at 10:25 am, while the return sector, flight 6E1085, is scheduled to depart Guwahati at 6:15 pm and arrive in Bangkok at 10:45 pm, all times local. The twice-weekly frequency aims to offer consistent options for passengers and to integrate with existing domestic schedules. The carrier indicated that timings and the commencement dates remain subject to regulatory clearance. IndiGo said the direct service is expected to support leisure and business travel between Northeast India and Thailand, and to promote tourism, trade and cultural exchanges while reinforcing Guwahati's role as an emerging international gateway to Southeast Asia. The airline will also commence direct flights between Gaya and Bangkok from 26 October 2026 to establish a dedicated air bridge to a major Buddhist pilgrimage destination. The moves form part of a wider strategy to deepen links with key Thai destinations. IndiGo already operates direct services linking Bangkok with Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai, and operates services to Phuket from Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, while Delhi also has direct connectivity with Krabi. The carrier currently operates nearly 2,200 daily flights with a fleet of more than 430 aircraft and a network covering more than 95 domestic and 40 international destinations. It served over 123 million (mn) customers in FY26.
