Mumbai Airport has increased entry eGates

The digital gateway programme at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has been expanded significantly, improving the travel experience for both DigiYatra and non-DigiYatra travellers. Without making any structural changes, the airport expanded its terminal entrance points (eGates) from 24 to 68, the most of any airport in the nation. Through this development, the processing capacity of CSMIA will be tripled, reaching 7,440 passengers per hour at Terminal 2 (T2) and 2,160 passengers per hour at Terminal 1 (T1). Travellers can now travel more conveniently and efficiently thanks to the new digital gateway system, which drastically cuts curbside wait times to less than a minute. The Mumbai Airport said that its T2 terminal now has 28 specialised DigiYatra eGates and 28 non-DigiYatra eGates, while T1 offers 6 eGates each for DigiYatra and non-DigiYatra passengers. This is made possible by merging technology, process excellence, big data analytics, and design thinking. An extra 118 eGates are being installed at T2's Pre-Embarkation Security Check (PESC) section to better expedite passenger flow. Passengers may travel via eGates without displaying their ticket, boarding card, or identity verification thanks to the Digital Gateway system, which makes use of IoT sensors and biometric face pods linked with the DigiYatra foundation.

"Digi Buddies" have been sent out to help first-time DigiYatra passengers by guiding them through the usage of DigiYatra, Common Usage Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS), Common Use Self Service (CUSS), and Self Bag Drop (SBD). The airport said that in order to improve the total security system at the curbside, it would also install cameras with AI and ML capabilities. We are thrilled to share the news of our DigiYatra facility's substantial expansion on the CSMIA digital gateway platform. This programme is a reflection of our commitment to leading the way in innovative technology developments that improve the traveller experience. We are devoted to making sure that every traveller has a quick, safe, and seamless journey by putting in more eGates and sophisticated biometric technologies. We're still committed to improving convenience and efficiency. In response to increasing passenger traffic and forecasted growth, CSMIA added that it is focusing on real-time information sharing and improved decision-making processes.

Creativity is for Humans, Productivity is for Robots!

On most construction sites, the rhythm of progress is measured by the clang of steel, the hum of machinery and the sweat of thousands. But increasingly, new sounds are entering the mix: the quiet efficiency of algorithms, the hum of drones overhead, and the precision of robotic arms at work. Behind the concrete and cables, an invisible force is taking hold: data. It is turning blueprints into living simulations, managing fleets of machines, and helping engineers make decisions before a single brick is laid. This is not the construction of tomorrow; it is the architecture of today – built on ..
