SpiceJet Adds Two Boeing 737s to Boost Route Capacity

SpiceJet has expanded its fleet with the addition of two Boeing 737 aircraft, strengthening capacity across major domestic and international routes. Both aircraft have cleared all regulatory requirements and are already in commercial operation, having entered service on 26 and 29 November.

The new aircraft have been deployed on high-traffic routes including Delhi–Bangkok, Ahmedabad–Dubai and Ahmedabad–Kolkata. Their induction comes as the airline aims to enhance connectivity, improve schedule reliability and meet rising passenger demand during the peak travel period.

Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet, said the latest additions represent a calibrated expansion strategy focused on operational stability and customer experience. He added that the aircraft will support the airline’s commitment to reliable, efficient and affordable travel.

SpiceJet operates a fleet comprising Boeing 737s and Q400s and continues to be one of India’s key regional carriers under the UDAN scheme. Several aircraft also offer the SpiceMax product, which provides one of the most spacious economy seating options in the Indian aviation market.
