Gujarat Police Partners with MapmyIndia for Real-Time Traffic Alerts

The Gujarat Police has partnered with MapmyIndia’s Mappls application to introduce real-time traffic alerts aimed at improving road safety and reducing accidents across the state. Under the agreement, police units will regularly share verified field information, including details of road closures, diversions, maintenance activity, accident sites and congestion points. This data will be instantly reflected on the Mappls platform for public use.

The upgraded app now offers alerts for accident-prone black spots, speed-limit warnings, road-condition updates and hazard notifications to assist motorists in making safer travel decisions. To streamline reporting, personnel in every district have been trained on a dedicated communication channel for submitting updates quickly and accurately.

According to the state police, the collaboration marks a significant step in adopting indigenous digital tools for public-safety services. Officials said the initiative supports wider efforts to reduce accidents, enhance traffic discipline and provide commuters with reliable, real-time guidance across Gujarat.
